This year some of them will sleep in our Transit van.(Last year... two tents... so much trouble...).Élisabethhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11102445162331235011noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2322864304061375013.post-11603486966327949072021-06-29T01:45:45.436-04:002021-06-29T01:45:45.436-04:00June 2021! I wish we could have seen this earlier! Will definitely refer to this when creating the bed setup for our 5 kids. Thank you for putting this post together a couple years ago. 😅 Next trip will be to San Diego so will definitely try to mold it to fit our lower roof Ford Transit Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02848620387557035089noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2322864304061375013.post-27383432513358033942021-05-06T23:14:48.517-04:002021-05-06T23:14:48.517-04:00Should have put the bed supports on the left and r...Should have put the bed supports on the left and right instead of front and back so the kids don't have to climb over a 2x4 to get in. Also you just need legs. Don't need the bottom cross member. If your worried about the legs wobbling just use a couple triangle supports at the top. I have exacts same van with nearly the exact same bed setup, except I used a box on one side with a hinge that flies out to make the full bed and PVC leg supports. That way you have half the space open when your not sleeping.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15853868081626902946noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2322864304061375013.post-21081633380284374972021-03-24T21:50:14.733-04:002021-03-24T21:50:14.733-04:00Yay! And I kept thinking I’m not planning on putting in a backsplash and making our van prettier than our house. I just want to go camping. Loved the tutorial. Know you must have put a lot of work into making this. Great job. Enjoy your many adventures. We're still really happy with the bed set-up for now, but keep in mind our boys are still small. We're already brainstorming how we'll adjust when their bunk gets to crowded in a couple years. But so far it's been great! Our only other hiccup is that the clothes boxes slide off the shelf whenever we drive anywhere for sight-seeing, so we need to find a solution for that. Otherwise I don’t think there is anything else we would change at this point. I’m sure you could find away to make the frame higher (that’s the beauty of DIY!) but we haven’t had any concerns with it as-is, if that helps. :)Georgiahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16098769340141865316noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2322864304061375013.post-65393011931074193272020-05-19T19:23:48.017-04:002020-05-19T19:23:48.017-04:00Great right up! How have you liked your set up over the last year? Would you make any changes? Do you think it would be possible build the frame higher and bolt the 2x4s into the slots where the seat belts are bolted into?<br />Markhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03825543065194352114noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2322864304061375013.post-74229919331016145342019-08-26T15:49:26.020-04:002019-08-26T15:49:26.020-04:00Thank you for the DIY, my husband and i have been ...Thank you for the DIY, my husband and i have been thinking on buying a Ford Transit.
