Day 5 - Build a Simple Modern Headboard

http://www.morelikehome.net/2x4s

Today we are going to do a fun project for the bedroom. You can see links to the complete series here, and read details about my Lowe's gift card giveaway here. In this series, we're seeing what we can make out of 2x4s. I want to keep it cheap, keep it easy, and keep it totally doable for anyone. This is one of my biggest projects in the series, so I'm going to split it in to two days, starting with the headboard section today.

This simple, modern style bed has a unique long & low headboard with built-in nightstands (that we'll tackle tomorrow!). The plans are for a queen size bed, but could easily be adapted to other sizes. This headboard would make a statement in any room, but if you adjust the measurements to fill an entire wall in your bedroom it would be a show stopping feature! Let's get started with the headboard.

Day 4 - Build a Simple Chair with 2x4s

Day 4, here we go! You can see links to the complete series here, and read about my Lowe's gift card giveaway here. In this series, we're seeing what we can make out of 2x4s. I want to keep it cheap, keep it easy, and keep it totally doable for anyone. Today's project is super easy and very cheap. We're going to build a Simple 2x4 Chair!

This is one of my smaller projects and is pretty simple to build. It has a chunky, modern style and the 2x4 construction makes it very sturdy. Ready to build one? Or, you know, a whole set?

Day 3 - Build a Kitchen Cart with 2x4s

Day 3! You can see links to the complete series here. In this series, we are seeing what we can make out of 2x4s. I want to keep it cheap, keep it easy, and keep it totally doable for anyone. Today's project is another one of my favorites - The Kitchen Cart.

This cart is big enough to add extra storage space and extra counter space, but small enough to tuck under a standard countertop and take up just 18" of space. The shelves are perfect for storing pans, mixing bowls, or even canned goods. It's on casters so you can roll it wherever you need a little extra space to spread out. Let's build it!

Welcome to day 2! You can see links to the all 31 2x4 projects in the series here. Like I mentioned yesterday, my plan for this series is to see what we can make out of 2x4s. I want to keep it cheap, keep it easy, and keep it totally doable for anyone. Today we are going to start with one of my favorite projects I have planned for this month - The Causal Desk.

It is so easy to put together, requires only basic tools, and is super affordable to build. It has a simple, sturdy style and a big work surface that is perfect for your home office. So let's get started....
