As I'm unpacking the new house and staring at these blank walls, I've been thinking it would be nice to get a few of these favorite verses up there. And this seems like a good place to start.
Here's all you need to make your own:
- Wood - I used a piece about 12" long x 7" high
- Paint - I used acrylic for the black and leftover white house paint for the white. Whatevs.
- Printable Template - scroll down to the bottom and I have a few verses you can choose from!
Turn it right-side up and center the design on your board. Use a pent to trace around the edges of the letters. This will transfer the pencil lines to your board.
Paint inside the lines.
You can call it a day right there.
Or use a rag to rub some stain into the board.
If you're feeling fancy you can add a little more flair like this one I found on pinterest. I love it so much. I wish I had used a bigger board so I could add something like it!
I went ahead and made templates of a few of my favorite hymns to get you started. I think I might make a larger version of one for our dining room... but first I have to decide which one! Anyway, just click on the template you like and it will take you to a pdf you can print out.
