Cream Cheese Pinwheels (only 3 ingredients!)

Cream cheese pinwheels are one of our classic go-to treats. Whether it's the Superbowl, a birthday, Christmas, or anything in between - if there is something special going on, this sweet, creamy goodness is on the menu. Pinwheels hold a lot of nostalgia for me because I remember my mom making them, and now my kids love them just as much as I do! You won't believe how simple they are with just three ingredients.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pkg refrigerated crescent rolls (you can swap homemade dough if you prefer!)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ¼ cup powdered sugar

Instructions:

1. Separate the crescent rolls into four rectangles (each rectangle will be made up of two triangles). Pinch together the seam down the middle of each rectangle.

2. Blend together cream cheese and powdered sugar. Divide cream cheese mixture between the four rectangles of dough and spread it evenly across each rectangle.

3. Starting at the short ends, roll each rectangle into a log. Use a sharp knife to cut each log into slices ½” thick. Lay slices on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.

4. Bake at 350 degrees for about 12 minutes (until the edges are lightly browned).

Left: dough pinched into rectangles and spread with cream cheese mixture.
Center: rectangle rolled into a log.
Right: log sliced into pinwheels.

That's it! They are seriously so simple! Make a batch tonight to enjoy with a Christmas movie or during a Christmas read-aloud. Or try packaging up a few for your friends and neighbors as gifts.

Enjoy! And be sure to check out the rest of my easy Christmas craft & recipe posts!
